September RAKU Workshop

September 7, 10:00 am-4 pm

Location: 146 Roslin Ave, Toronto 

Overview:
Explore the secret of Japanese RAKU to create unique and exciting pieces! This workshop welcomes participants aged 18 and up. Intermediate or higher levels welcome. Glaze and firing included.

In this workshop you will bring 3 previously bisqued RAKU pieces.

Bring Your Pots: Participants must bring up to three of their own bisque-fired raku pots, each no larger than 12" tall by 12" wide, to be transformed through the Raku firing process.

You will be guided through the RAKU process by our experienced RAKU expert. In the morning you will glaze them in our studio, using RAKU glazes and in the afternoon we will fire the three pieces outside in our RAKU kiln.

September 7 Morning RAKU firing time: 10Am-4PM

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. 

Participants must bring their own safety eye covering and respirator mask.

Studio Policies:

• All purchases are final and non-refundable.

  • Notice given 24-72 hours in advance will receive a 50% credit toward rescheduling.
  • Unfortunately, no credit will be issued for notice provided less than 24 hours before the class.

• The studio is not responsible for cracked or damaged pieces, as imperfections like cracks are a natural part of the ceramic process.

Important Information:

• You will take your pieces home with you on the same day.
• Clean up of the pieces required after the firing.
